Room
Fully accessible
"Comfortable,
warm, welcoming!" Dick and Ellie Kilbourn, New Britain, Connecticut
The
Garden Room is located on the first floor level, off the kitchen
area with double doors for great sound protection. Because this
room is handicap accessible, it has a private outdoor entrance
with an access ramp which goes through garden gates to Washington
Street. The Garden Room was built in the winter of 1995 with
large beams, wide pine floorboards,
and a lovely hutch with storage space for guest clothing - early American style complete with a wood
burning fireplace to help keep you warm on a cold winter Maine
night!
Windows
provide southern and western exposure
and a comfortable king size bed, which converts into twins,
is supplemented by a sofa/daybed which makes into a long twin
bed for a third guest. The room also has a hanging closet
and a full bathroom with a sink, shower and bathtub. Finally,
there is a pocket door in the room which can be opened to create
a suite with its neighboring room, the East Room.
As with all our guest rooms, the Garden Room has a private bathroom,
air conditioning (in-season), cable television, a DVD player, clock radio, WI-FI and a telephone. All
beds have special reading lights or side tables with reading
lamps. The firewood for the room is supplied at no charge.
