Green
Room
"Beautiful
room, lovely escape". -- The Horns, Portland, Maine
The
Green Room is located in the older part of The
Inn and reached via the front staircase to the second floor
landing. The room has green and
gold Schumacher wallpaper and a four-poster queen bed whose
canopy has a pleated gold fabric underbody and rich canopy
side panels of gold, soft red and mild green. The original
grey marble fireplace, while not operational, is a lovely
highlight to the room. There is also an easy chair and
ottoman, and an upolstered trunk for additional seating.
Windows have a western and northern exposure through which
you can catch a glimpse of our lovely gardens. The room’s
unusually large bathroom has a pedestal sink, shower, bathtub
and bidet. The room’s closet is good-sized with a built-in
set of three bureau drawers.
As
with all our guest rooms, the Green Room has a private bathroom,
air conditioning, cable television, a VCR (we have movies
for all ages), AM-FM clock radio/cassette player, WI-FI and
a telephone. All beds have reading lights or side tables with
reading lamps. We also have CD players available upon request,
which our guests may use in their rooms.
